Live Webcasting Events.

To web cast an event (on real time basis) held at one place, live and On-Demand, to viewers across the world. This solution uses components of the technology developed for the Distance Learning application and has been used to stream live religious and personal events across the globe in an interactive manner.

Users download the client application from Atheeva that would show them the various events available to them to which they can then join, watch and interact. Events can be made available with conditional access ( public & private ) viewership .At the venue, the only equipment needed, is a DV producing video source, a computer/ laptop with Atheeva software running on it and an Internet connection with minimum 256 kbps connectivity. The event viewer client application at the user side connects to Atheeva WorldWide Servers from which the media are streamed. The event viewer client application also allows people to have other value added features, similar to a DVD menu interface, while watching the event for e.g: viewing the photographs, history, previous On Demand videos related to the event , chat and conference with small groups etc .

The idea has been to provide “DVD functionality on the Web” so that viewer attention sustainment is higher than just watching a monotonous uni-directional video stream. Automated scheduled broadcasts can be created using an authoring software developed by Atheeva that processes the content, transcodes, schedules the broadcast and manages the upload and delivery.
